The Reverend Gary W. Schultz, Pastor
Pastor Schultz was born and raised in Fort
Wayne, Indiana. He was baptized into Christ on July 12, 1981 at
Messiah Lutheran Church - Fort Wayne. He graduated from Concordia
Lutheran School in 1996 and Concordia Lutheran High School in
2000. His parents, Kenneth and Linda, were also blessed with two
other children: Mark and Laura.
Pastor Schultz studied pre-seminary, parish
music, and theological languages at Concordia
University - Mequon, WI, and graduated with a bachelor
of arts degree in 2004. He went on to prepare for the Holy Ministry
at Concordia
Theological Seminary - Fort Wayne, and graduated with
a master of divinity degree in 2008.
As part of preparation for the Ministry,
he served as a field worker under the Rev. Richard S. Radtke,
the Rev. John H. Hamer, and the Rev. Peter C. Cage at St.
Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church - Fort Wayne. His
vicarage (internship) was served in 2006-2007 under the Rev. Kenneth
W. Wieting at Luther
Memorial Chapel - Shorewood, Wisconsin. His vicarage
responsibilities included campus ministry at the University of
Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
His musical training includes the study
of organ under Wayne Petersen, James Freese, John Behnke, and
Kevin Hildebrand. He served as organist at St.
Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church - Milwaukee (2001-2004),
Ascension Lutheran Church - Fort Wayne (2004-2006), and Shepherd
of the City Lutheran Church - Fort Wayne (2007-2008). He sang
in the Kammerchor
of Concordia University Wisconsin, the Kantorei
of Concordia Theological Seminary, and the Fort
Wayne Bach Collegium.
Pastor Schultz was ordained on June 22,
2008 at St. Paul's - Fort Wayne and was installed as pastor of
Mount Calvary and Immanuel on July 6, 2008.
Pastor Schultz lives at the parish parsonage
in Eagle Grove. In addition to sacred music and theology, he enjoys
gardening, photography, and spending time outdoors.
